About

Sarah Fraser’s Story

Sarah Fraser was born to shake things up. Raised in the small town of Maine, she quickly realized the world needed her voice. From high school mornings reading announcements to being elected class president and making her peers laugh, Sarah was already laying the groundwork for her future as the next Oprah meets Howard Stern—a cocktail of compassion and boldness, unpredictable and unfiltered, both hilarious and, let’s face it, a little wild.

It wasn’t long after college that Sarah’s shot at stardom came knocking. Joining the mega-popular Kane Show on Hot 99.5, Sarah didn’t just arrive—she exploded onto the Washington, D.C. airwaves, becoming a local sensation overnight. Her outrageous takes, disarming honesty, and laugh-out-loud moments earned her a loyal fanbase that still holds her down to this day.

But Sarah’s rise to success was anything but smooth.

As a kid, Sarah faced relentless bullying for being overweight, and her world was turned upside down when her father was diagnosed with stomach and esophageal cancer. Losing him in just 14 months shattered her world, and Sarah turned to food to numb the pain. What followed was a decade-long struggle with emotional eating—a battle that shaped her in ways few could see behind the mic.

From the outside, her life at The Kane Show looked perfect: big money, VIP access, endless opportunities.

While she was lighting up the airwaves at The Kane Show, her work life was chaotic. Her boss became increasingly erratic and abusive toward the team, and Sarah, despite her success, never felt she could measure up. Every day felt like walking a tightrope while her emotional eating spiraled, and she struggled with constant yo-yo dieting.

She knew she had to regain control.

She knew she had to regain control.

That moment came when she stumbled upon a mindful eating coach who helped her reclaim her power over food. With newfound confidence, she broke free from the toxic work environment and made history as the first woman in D.C. to have her name in the title of a morning show—Sarah, Ty, and Mel on DC’s 107.3. At the same time, she launched her TV career with regular segments on Fox 5 DC/Good Day DC, where she dished on all things pop culture.

She also got her start on television, contributing weekly to Fox 5 DC/Good Day DC and talking all things pop-culture.

Following Sarah’s time hosting “Sarah, Ty, and Mel,” she knew she had to make a change.

In late 2015, as radio began to decline and podcasting rose as the future of on-demand media, Sarah saw the writing on the wall. She knew she didn’t want to ride the wave of the past—she wanted to be part of what was next. So, she took a leap.

Hey Frase—now The Sarah Fraser Show—was born with that vision in mind. It took grit, hustle, and years of hard work to turn it into a profitable venture, but today, The Sarah Fraser Show is a smash hit. It ranks in the top 50 TV & film podcasts, with over 20 million downloads to date and 300k downloads a month. Sarah’s now sharing her podcasting success secrets with pop-culture lovers everywhere, teaching them how to build and monetize their own platforms.

Her guest list includes stars and plenty of reality TV adjacent ordinary people—from Real Housewives icons and economist Emily Oster to former child star Drake Bell. She’s even taken to the red carpet, interviewing legends like Dave Chappelle, Morgan Freeman, and Tom Hanks.

And it’s not just podcasting where Sarah shines—she’s been featured on Lifetime’s Married at First Sight (Kick-Off Show, After Party, Couples Couch), HBO’s Crashing, Bravo’s Real Housewives of Potomac, and Discovery ID’s Home Sweet Homicide.

From her takes on the latest reality TV drama to her candid discussions on personal topics like infertility, Sarah doesn’t hold back. She’s ready to talk about anything with anyone.

Now based in Los Angeles, Sarah is soaking up life with her husband Dan (aka “Schman”) and their 3.5-year-old son, KJ, all while staying true to the unstoppable, bold, and hilarious woman her fans can’t get enough of.
